Women at War

France, 1914. As the German troops advance and men leave for the frontlines, four women must grapple with the devastating consequences of war at home.
The destinies of the four women intersect: Marguerite de Lancastel, a mysterious Parisian sex worker; Caroline Dewitt, propelled to the head of the family factory; Mother Agnès, Mother Superior of a requisitioned convent; and Suzanne Faure, a feminist nurse.
